The session will also serve as an introduction to ATR-NSUF capabilities, safety and engineering as well as an overview of other facilities associated with post irradiation/analytical analysis. The summer session will limit the number of participants. Participants will be selected on a competitive basis.
Topics:
The following topics will be presented at the session:
- Basics of Irradiation Damage and Corrosion in Reactor Materials
- Light Water Reactor Fuels and Materials
- Fast Reactor Fuels and Materials
- Fuel and Material Modeling
- Gas Reactor Fuels
- Capabilities of the ATR National Scientific User facility for Irradiation Testing and Postirradiation Examination
Enrollment:
The summer session is open to industry, academia, and students working or studying in the area of nuclear energy, including technical fields such as nuclear engineering, materials science, physics, and other related engineering and science fields. Students should be enrolled at the upper level undergraduate or graduate level.
Applications are available here (MS Word and PDF) and are due no later than February 1, 2008.
